Capacity development

iDove offers a range of capacity‑strenghtening opportunities for young people engaged in preventing and countering violent extremism. The support includes training‑of‑trainers programmes, specialised skills workshops, peer‑to‑peer learning, networking opportunities, and a dedicated mentorship programme.

The iDove Training of Trainers (ToT)

The iDove Training of Trainers (ToT) equips the iDovers with skills and tools to build cohesive communities and teaches them to become trainers to deliver an iDove training themselves.

During the ToT, prospective trainers first participate in the iDove Training themselves and consists of two components: The first part of the training focuses on PVE-related content, the second part of the training allows the participants to learn more about methodologies, learning styles, ways of training delivery and to complete a practicum.

iDove Mentorship Programme

In 2024, iDove also launched its first ever mentorship programme. The iDove Mentorship Programme connects iDove generations across regions and faith traditions through peer mentoring, a reciprocal model that strengthens skills, networks, and care within the community. Peer mentorship is a structured, mutual learning relationship where two people in a similar field support each other’s growth toward agreed goals. Unlike traditional, top-down mentoring, peer mentoring is reciprocal: each person brings knowledge, networks, and perspective.

Intercontinental Youth Forums

Intercontinental Youth Forums (IYF) serve capacity strengthening forum where learning, peer-to-peer sharing and networking are supported. iDovers come together each year at the IYF to strengthen networks, foster a shared sense of ownership and identity, and jointly develop strategies for preventing violent extremism.
